About Us
Pachedi Health and Educational Initiatives is a Non-profit organization/Non governmental organization (NGO) founded out of a deep love and commitment to supporting the holistic development of children in Nigeria. Officially launched in 2017, Pachedi’s mission is to uplift and empower the “total child,” providing both health and educational aid to underprivileged children across the country.
Since its inauguration, Pachedi has positively impacted the lives of over 900 children, offering critical “Back to School” assistance that includes school bags, uniforms, books, shoes, socks, and other essential supplies. In addition to this, they have provided scholarships to deserving students, ensuring that education is within reach for many who would otherwise be left behind. However, even before its formal launch, Pachedi had been engaged in various philanthropic activities, laying the groundwork for its expansive outreach.
The organization’s commitment to child welfare and education took on even greater importance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing the urgent need for support, Pachedi distributed face masks, handwashing buckets, gloves, and soap to children and their families. They also provided palliatives to rural communities, ensuring that even in challenging times, no child would be left without help. Pachedi’s dedication to health extended beyond the pandemic, offering healthcare assistance to both children and women, emphasizing the importance of health in the development of the total child.
Education remains at the heart of Pachedi’s initiatives. In government-owned schools, they have organized competitions to foster a love for learning and inspire students to excel academically. Understanding that the world is now a global village, Pachedi also provides laptops to students eager to embrace information and communication technology (ICT), preparing them for the digital future.
Pachedi’s outreach doesn’t stop with education. The organization recognizes the importance of equipping young girls and teenage mothers with practical skills that can help them achieve financial independence. To this end, Pachedi has established a skill acquisition center where these young women can learn to sew and develop valuable vocational skills. The center is set to fully open by December, expanding its capacity to train and empower even more young women.
In addition to these efforts, Pachedi Health and Educational Initiatives has consistently addressed menstrual health by providing young girls with sanitary supplies every month since its inception. This ongoing commitment ensures that girls can maintain their dignity and health, free from the challenges of period poverty.
